This edition includes paintings by one-hundred 19th- and 20th-century artists from ten European countries. Tehy vibidly illustred such marvellous chapters in art history as the French Enpire portrait, the Barbizon portrait, Gewrman Romanticism and French Impressionism. Superbly represented is the work of the Post-Impressionists and their followers.
